The Solutions Dialogue on Ocean Action and Leadership at the Climate Summit 2026 is being convened by the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for the Ocean and the Secretary General's Climate Action Team.

The Dialogue on Oceans will bring together political, institutional, scientific and private-sector leaders to consider how existing commitments and solutions can be translated into delivery. It will focus on three connected priorities: strengthening coherence across the international ocean architecture; turning the ocean-climate-biodiversity nexus into integrated action; and mobilising finance, technology and private-sector engagement to move solutions from promising initiatives to scale. Together, these priorities raise a broader question of leadership: how can the international community organise itself to secure the ocean as a foundation of future prosperity, resilience and security, while making it a more effective part of the response to the climate and biodiversity crises?

The United Nations Secretary-General will convene a High-Level Meeting on Climate Action and the Just Transition during the High-Level Week of the 81st United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. The Meeting will focus on the leadership, implementation and international cooperation needed to accelerate delivery across the three pillars of the Paris Agreement. It will include a series of multi-stakeholder 'Solutions Dialogues', bringing together governments, international organizations and financial institutions, business, investors, subnational actors, civil society and the UN System to identify practical partnerships and solutions to help accelerate implementation across critical sectors and priorities.
